Dear Friends,
This Shabbat is one of four specially designated Shabbatot that include the reading from a second Torah scroll.
This week, Parshat HaChodesh features the Torah portion concerning the Passover offering and the mitzvah to keep a calendar (read on the Shabbat before the month of Nissan).
As the month of Pesach begins, we are reminded that the holiday is rapidly approaching. In order to help set the mood, please enjoy this famous “scat-style” rendition of Chad Gad Ya first made famous by Cantor Moshe Oysher in the 1930s! Here, my talented colleague and friend performs the piece with some extra surprises. Enjoy and Shabbat Shalom!
